Check CentOS Version
There are several ways to check the version of the CentOS. Just execute one the following command to check the version of the CentOS.
[root@host ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core)
[root@host ~]# cat /etc/centos-release
CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core)>/code>

[root@host ~]# cat /etc/os-release
NAME="CentOS Linux"

ID_LIKE="rhel fedora"

You can also use hostnamectl to check the version of CentOS.
[root@host ~]# hostnamectl
